lexus suspension height sensors are the same parts as toyota ones (only difference is the mounting bracket) ~ usually can be easily purchased between 40-60usd and a pretty easy to replace as for the 12v battery i’m very highly gonna recommend the oem battery (and make sure it’s the same exact part instead of a european substitute) if you have such issue with battery when starting you get all those errors as not all modules are starting up (and you won’t be ready to engage the hybrid system since not everything is reporting correctly) ~ that check prior to launching the system can be bypassed by pressing the start button quickly twice when you enter the car the dc/dc converter i believe is a pretty much bulletproof part ~ wouldn’t even consider it a failure point

4:01 an meinem Citroen C5 war ebenfalls der xenon-brenner defekt. Beim Wechsel zerbrach der Stecker. Citroen meinte, sie könnten nur den Scheinwerfer komplett tauschen für 3500 Euro. Habe dann den Scheinwerfer ausgebaut, Kabel und Vorschaltgerät ersetzt (zusammen etwa 50 Euro) und alles wieder zusammengebaut. Etwa 2 Tage Arbeit. Du bist also nicht alleine.

All hybrids are greenwashing. They're also overcomplicated and carry two power trains which will fail. I call them frankenkars because they are cobbled together from disparate parts. But this one is also cynical. It seems to me that Italian cities claim that they have low emissions zones, but that nobody actually observes the rules.

Transmission is a bit of a pain but you do on half of Saturday. Cost around €140 for 7 litres of MB fluid plus €100 for a Pan filter I found plugs to be really time consumming.16 sparks on M113 tool my almost a day. Anyways just saying if you have an old car and you are willing to work on it you will Save yourself a lot of money

A front sonar sensor on my 2015 Lexus 450H seemed to have failed about 8 months ago. I sprayed it with WD40 to absorb/remove moisture etc., then cleaned it thoroughly with alcohol without removing it. Then I turned off parking assist for past 8 months and ordered a replacement for about $20 from AliExpress in Asia. A few days ago, just before trying to remove the “defective” sensor I activated parking assist one last time. To my surprise the original so-called defective sensor is now working! Don’t toss the old sensors. They may still work once thoroughly cleaned. But not sure how to test them while detached from vehicle.

funny enough that does have rear diff locks, its not regular diff lock for off roading but is the one used for the park brake, some guys have modified theirs so they have access to it while in motion

I have the Diesel Giulia and I love it. The only issue I’ve had is a blocked drain from the AC which cost only £70 to have cleared. I would love the QV but the fuel economy of the diesel is by far the biggest advantage.

Selber besitze ich den SL65 AMG (R230/2004) seit vielen Jahren und mache mir etwas in die Hosen wegen möglichen Reparaturen die einmal kommen könnten - wo der Wurm drin ist weiss ich ja jetzt (ABC, SBC). Vielleicht kennst Du eine Garage bzw. eine Person die sich wirklich gut auskennt mit dem R230 und wo man mal unverbindlich vorbei gehen könnte um das Auto zu checken. Übrigens, auch ich habe eine ZH Nummer an den Autos ...

I don't know why you justify being ripped off. And make it sound like an honor to be fleeced. These manufacturers in this day an age know how to manufacture a liable car. They just want to come back and make a ton of money selling you parts.

I don't know why to repair any car should cost alot of money. They shouldn't break down as much. And if they are faulty (and they are manufactured with faults and planned Obsolescence. That's where the money is for manufacturers) the manufacturers would have to pay for it.

Myself I own a SL65 AMG since 2006 (70'000 km) and I can't complain so far but I'm mentally preparing myself for costly surprises (suspension, breaks, vacuum!?) that might show up sooner or later. You seem to understand a lot about the cars and I would like to get in touch with you which should pose no problem as I saw in this video that you'r driving in the region I live and where I drive my cars (4) too. Would be nice ...

1996 1997 1998 were the best years of this classic.

If I can be honest, I own a 2005 CLK 55 AMG so I don't know 100% if the SL is like this but I have the same 5-Speed transmission and the same shift "buttons". It SHOULD let you shift even if you are in Comfort or Sport mode but it won't register it all of the time because the computer does "agree" with your decision to shift gears at that moment. I found out the hard way that if it doesn't like shifting AT ALL in Sport or Comfort(Winter) mode, then something is probably wrong with your MAF Sensor/Tube/Airbox. I found that mine stopped wanting to shift AT ALL in Sport or Comfort mode and in Manual would drop to the tallest gear possible while not wanting to stick with my choice of gear selections until I replaced my MAF Sensor. Then, the shifting went back to normal and now lets me shift in any mode(As long as the computer agrees still of course lol). Just a heads up, it probably wasn't choosing to shift to it's full potential too.
